Job Description
Chief of Staff to the Chief Lending Officer
Are you the person who makes everyone around you more effective? If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love bringing order to complexity, and take pride in being the organizational backbone of a high-performing team — this role was built for you. Join a rapidly growing, Inc. 5000-recognized community bank and become the right hand to a dynamic Chief Lending Officer at a pivotal moment in the bank’s growth.
What’s in it for you
- Competitive compensation
- High visibility and direct access to senior leadership from day one
- A role with genuine long-term runway — grow within the Chief of Staff function or use this as a launchpad into other areas of the bank
- A seat at the table during an exciting period of growth at one of the fastest-growing community banks in the country
This role will be responsible for
- Owning and protecting the CLO’s calendar end-to-end, plus scheduling support for up to three additional lenders
- Serving as the communication bridge between the lending team and key departments including loan operations, deposit operations, credit, and treasury
- Managing travel logistics primarily for the CLO, with occasional support for other lenders
- Coordinating client events, team gatherings, and offsites from planning through execution
- Attending select internal meetings to capture notes, track action items, and ensure follow-through
- Supporting the team’s EOS cadence — L10 meetings, quarterly sessions, and one-on-ones
- Handling administrative tasks and paperwork that currently pull lenders away from client-facing work
Expectations will include
- Proactively resolving scheduling conflicts and protecting the CLO’s time without requiring his involvement in routine decisions
- Disseminating process updates and policy changes from other departments to the lending team quickly and clearly
- Drafting internal communications, meeting recaps, and follow-up correspondence on behalf of the CLO
- Maintaining a high standard of discretion and confidentiality — this role carries access to sensitive calendar and operational information
- Operating autonomously with strong judgment and minimal hand-holding
- Building trust quickly with the CLO, lenders, and cross-functional department partners
A qualified candidate will possess the following
- 5+ years in an executive assistant, chief of staff, office manager, or similar senior support role
- Demonstrated experience managing complex calendars and travel logistics for senior leaders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Zoom; familiarity with Salesforce or nCino is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail — you catch things others miss
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; polished and professional in all correspondence
- Ability to support multiple leaders simultaneously without dropping the ball
- Familiarity with EOS tools (Ninety.io, Bloom Growth, EOS One) is a bonus, not a requirement
- Banking or financial services experience is welcome but not required — the right person brings exceptional support skills and a desire to learn
*Candidates must be eligible to work in the US as well as meet the qualifications listed above in order to be considered for the Chief of Staff job.
