Role Expectations

• Lead, coach, and develop a small analytical laboratory team, helping employees prioritize work, solve problems, and produce high-quality results.
• Coordinate workflow with other team leads to balance resources, improve efficiency, and keep projects moving on schedule.
• Serve as Study Director when needed, overseeing studies from protocol preparation through data review, interpretation, and final reporting.
• Maintain clear communication with laboratory staff, Quality Assurance, management, and sponsor representatives throughout each project.
• Provide technical leadership for analytical testing, method development, troubleshooting, and instrumentation needs.
• Promote a strong culture of GLP compliance, scientific quality, safety, accountability, and responsive client service.

Experience Needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field with 15 years of relevant experience; master’s degree with 10 years; or Ph.D. with 5 years.
• Experience with analytical chemistry, laboratory project management, and regulated testing methodologies; agricultural chemical product development or registration experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of HPLC, GC, and LC-MS/MS instrumentation; hands-on SCIEX experience is strongly preferred.
• Contract research laboratory experience and familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are highly desirable.
• Five to seven years of progressive leadership, team lead, or Study Director experience, along with a practical leadership style and strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
