Regional Forage Seed Sales Representative – Eastern U.S. Dairy Market

Are you ready to take the reins of a well-established territory with a loyal customer base — and the freedom to make it your own?

We’re seeking a Regional Forage Seed Sales Representative to lead sales efforts across the Eastern U.S. dairy market, working directly with dealers, retailers, and private-label partners to drive growth in forage seed sales.

This role combines relationship management, market development, and strategic account growth — ideal for someone who understands agriculture, values hands-on customer engagement, and thrives in a small, collaborative team environment.

What’s in it for you

  • Competitive base salary of $80,000–$100,000 plus performance incentives
  • Company vehicle, laptop, and cell phone provided
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and retirement plan
  • Opportunity to rebuild and grow an established territory with significant growth potential
  • Work within a tight-knit, team-oriented company where your ideas and input matter
  • Ongoing product training and technical support from internal experts
  • Autonomy and trust to manage your region and relationships effectively

This role will be responsible for

  • Driving forage seed sales growth through dealers and retail partners across the Eastern U.S.
  • Regaining lost market share and re-engaging previous customers
  • Managing relationships with private-label partners and distribution networks
  • Collaborating with logistics, product, and marketing teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Providing feedback and market insight to internal leadership and product development teams
  • Coordinating with the business manager and national sales team to align goals and strategies
  • Representing the company at trade shows, industry meetings, and field events

Expectations will include

  • Frequent in-person relationship management, with approximately 3 nights of travel per week during the sales season
  • Weekly reporting and forecasting during active sales periods
  • Monthly sales team meetings with leadership to discuss strategy, performance, and market updates
  • Active participation in ongoing training and team collaboration
  • Bringing fresh ideas to strengthen dealer relationships and market share
  • Balancing account retention with strategic new business development

A qualified candidate will possess the following

  • A background in agriculture, agronomy, or animal nutrition (seed experience preferred, but not required)
  • Understanding of the dairy industry or forage markets a plus
  • Demonstrated sales success with distributors, dealers, or retail partners
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • High degree of initiative, organization, and accountability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, fast-moving team
  • Willingness to travel regularly and engage directly with customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in an agriculturally related field preferred

Ideal Location: Pennsylvania or West Virginia (or central to the Eastern U.S. dairy market)

Target Start Date: January

Interview Process: Three stages — initial interview, sales leadership, and final discussion with executive leadership

*Candidates must be eligible to work in the US as well as meet the qualifications listed above in order to be considered for the Seed Sales job.
