Pillar 2: What You Will Be Doing
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for feedyard operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance.
- Oversee cattle health, feeding, yard maintenance, logistics, shipping/receiving, and environmental management.
- Lead and develop department managers and employees, setting clear expectations and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to all animal welfare standards, biosecurity protocols, and veterinary programs.
- Manage operating budgets, cost controls, KPIs, and financial performance metrics.
- Partner with nutrition, procurement, and marketing teams to optimize cattle performance and feeding outcomes.
- Champion workplace safety programs and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, state, and federal requirements).
- Utilize performance data, audits, and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement.
- Represent the operation professionally with customers, vendors, regulators, and community stakeholders.

- Proven senior leadership experience in large-scale feedyard or commercial livestock operations.
- Strong understanding of cattle feeding systems, animal health, nutrition, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex teams across multiple operational functions.
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L responsibility, and cost controls.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to animal care and employee safety.
- Effective communicator with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in highly structured, compliance-driven environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
