Mark Waschek
Pres. of Ag 1 Source
Mark Waschek grew up in central Minnesota. He went to the University of Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Ag Economics. After college, he joined Cenex Land O’Lakes, where he was a sales agronomist and location manager. He then moved into the corporate office, where he was the business manager of the Ag services area. In 2002, Mark moved to the energy division of CHS where I led a fuels sales team.
Mark joined Ag1Source in 2006, joined the board of directors in 2013, and became president of Ag1Source in 2022. Mark’s talent management expertise extends to a wide range of companies including family businesses, cooperatives, trade associations, and other organizations up to Fortune 100 companies. Although most of his focus has been working with boards and executive teams to fill senior leadership roles, he helps organizations with needs ranging from sales positions to CEO. Within this sector, he has successfully assisted businesses in finding talent for critical positions or consulted with organizations to help them improve their hiring practices and talent management strategies.
Mark’s influence extends beyond recruitment and consulting. Since 2008, he has been an active contributor to CropLife Magazine and a keynote speaker at Agricultural Industry conferences. His commitment to sharing talent management insights and strategies has kept the industry informed and inspired, making him a trusted source of knowledge in the agricultural sector.
Mark currently lives in Apple Valley, Minnesota, with my wife and three boys. They are a typical busy family, with competitive high school and college bass fishing taking up most of their time. When he is not on the water or supporting his boys, he enjoys traveling and doing fun things, such as relaxing at northern Minnesota resorts, big city trips such as the Macy’s Day parade in NYC or weekends in Chicago, or fun Caribbean getaways.
