The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a private equity–backed food distribution business that plays a critical role in a fast-moving, time-sensitive supply chain. This organization is known for operational excellence, strong customer relationships, and a commitment to quality and food safety — and is entering an exciting next phase of growth and professionalization.

The company is seeking a Warehouse / Operations / Distribution Manager to step into a true business owner role, with full P&L responsibility and the mandate to drive performance, scale operations, and build a disciplined, execution-focused culture.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who thrives in lean environments, enjoys being close to the action, and is energized by the challenge of improving systems, processes, and results in a private-equity setting.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As Warehouse / Operations / Distribution Manager, you will have end-to-end accountability for the business, including:

  • Full P&L ownership, driving profitability through budgeting, cost control, and smart resource allocation
  • Leadership of sales, operations, inventory, logistics, and finance, ensuring alignment and accountability across functions
  • Execution in a fresh food / perishables environment, with a focus on service levels, inventory accuracy, spoilage reduction, and food safety
  • Acting as the business owner for a major ERP implementation, from planning and testing through training and go-live
  • Establishing KPIs, dashboards, and operating rhythms aligned with private-equity expectations
  • Driving operational discipline through scalable processes, controls, and performance metrics
  • Identifying inefficiencies and leading initiatives that improve productivity, margins, and customer satisfaction
  • Recruiting, developing, and mentoring leaders while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
  • Serving as a trusted partner to executive leadership, proactively identifying risks and executing corrective actions

This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution — ideal for an operator who likes to be close to the business.

What They’re Looking For

  • 8–10+ years of senior leadership experience with direct P&L ownership
  • Background in general management, operations, finance, or supply chain–driven businesses
  • Experience in a private equity–backed or highly performance-driven environment
  • Meaningful involvement in an ERP system implementation within a growing or mid-sized organization
  • Experience in food distribution, foodservice, perishables, or time-sensitive logistics strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to balance accountability, urgency, and team development
