Job Description
Digital Product Manager Specialty Crops
Bring your specialty-crop expertise and digital product leadership to a role where you can shape tools that make farming simpler, smarter, and more productive. This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded product leader who enjoys working directly with growers, translating complex operational needs into scalable digital solutions, and guiding products from discovery through launch and adoption.
What’s in it for you
- The opportunity to be at the forefront of helping shape the future of agriculture.
- Lead the vision, strategy, roadmap, and commercial success of digital products serving specialty-crop growers.
- Influence connected solutions that improve farm planning, field execution, operational visibility, and decision-making.
- Work closely with growers, agronomists, engineers, data scientists, commercial leaders, and external technology partners.
- Join a growing agricultural technology environment where ownership, practical innovation, and measurable customer value are highly valued.
- Enjoy a remote, full-time opportunity with meaningful exposure to key specialty-crop markets.
- Help shape scalable digital products at the intersection of agriculture, connected equipment, data, automation, and software.
This role will be responsible for
- Owning and maintaining the digital product vision, strategy, roadmap, lifecycle priorities, and measurable success criteria.
- Identifying and prioritizing digital workflows that deliver the greatest operational and commercial value for specialty-crop growers.
- Translating grower and market needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release priorities.
- Leading product discovery through customer interviews, field observations, prototypes, pilots, and structured feedback.
- Defining connected experiences across planning, machine activity, field execution, job records, reporting, and decision support.
- Evaluating integrations with farm-management platforms, partner systems, weather and sensor data, equipment data, and other digital tools.
- Partnering with Engineering and Data Science to balance customer value, usability, technical feasibility, cost, timing, and scalability.
- Driving release readiness, launch support, adoption monitoring, and evidence-based product improvement.
- Supporting market sizing, business cases, packaging, pricing, revenue models, demonstrations, and strategic customer discussions.
Expectations will include
- Understanding specialty crop growers and serving as a credible voice for their needs and perspectives.
- Building trusted relationships with growers, farm managers, agronomists, operators, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Spending significant time in the field to understand real-world workflows, pain points, seasonal demands, and purchasing priorities.
- Balancing immediate customer needs with scalable platform development and long-term strategic objectives.
- Using direct customer evidence, market insight, and commercial judgment to make clear priorities and practical trade-offs.
- Converting voice-of-customer feedback into scalable product opportunities rather than one-off custom requests.
- Communicating product decisions, roadmap direction, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Working independently and collaboratively in a distributed, fast-changing organization while maintaining accountability for results.
- Supporting onboarding, customer value realization, retention, internal enablement, and continuous product improvement.
- Traveling regularly to customer sites and field locations; residence on the U.S. West Coast is strongly preferred and may be required based on business needs.
A qualified candidate will possess the following
- A bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, Product Management, Business, Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Seven or more years of relevant experience across specialty-crop agronomy, digital agriculture, product management, farm operations, or agricultural technology.
- Demonstrated success working directly with commercial specialty-crop growers and translating operational needs into product or technology solutions.
- Experience owning or significantly contributing to a digital product roadmap and guiding products from discovery through launch and adoption.
- Strong knowledge of vineyards, orchards, berries, nuts, high-value horticulture, or other specialty-crop production systems.
- Knowledge of farm-management systems, irrigation and weather tools, labor and work-order platforms, compliance tools, equipment data, and analytics solutions.
- Proficiency in product discovery, requirements definition, prioritization, roadmap management, market sizing, pricing, and business-case development.
- Understanding of SaaS or recurring-revenue go-to-market models, including subscription packaging, pricing, adoption, and retention drivers.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience with connected machinery, robotics, autonomous equipment, APIs, geospatial data, agricultural data platforms, or AI/ML applications is highly desirable.
- Additional familiarity with ADAPT, ISOBUS 11783, OEM APIs, GIS, digital twins, crop models, or integrated hardware-software-service offerings is a plus.
*Candidates must be eligible to work in the US as well as meet the qualifications listed above in order to be considered for the Digital Product Manager job.
