This is a true Sales Manager role who will have a team of 4 or more reporting to them and we need someone who loves building teams, mentoring sales people, helping develop the team and be a hands on sales manager who wants to be out in the field with his team often.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Leading and mentoring the regional sales team to achieve volume and margin sales targets.
  • Developing, executing, and refining strategic sales plans and programs to expand market share.
  • Building trusted relationships with strategic accounts, growers, distributors, and key industry associations.
  • Representing the organization at key industry events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen brand presence.
  • Working cross-functionally with agronomy, sustainability, marketing, and leadership teams to align business priorities.
  • Managing sales expenditures, budgets, and forecasts for optimal resource deployment.

Expectations will include:

  • Delivering consistently on sales, profit, and growth targets.
  • Developing strong relationships at the farmgate, retail, and senior management levels within the Ag industry.
  • Providing timely, constructive coaching, recognition, and leadership to the sales team.
  • Hiring, developing, and retaining top talent for the continued success of the organization.
  • Staying actively engaged in market trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
  • Traveling up to 70% throughout the western U.S. territory.

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven sales leadership experience in crop input agriculture (mandatory).
  • Strong network of retail, senior retail management, distribution, and farmgate contacts within the agricultural industry across this region.
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales and margin goals individually and through teams.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and a passion for sustainability and innovation.
  • Experience in hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.

Compensation: Compensation will depend on experience, targeting the $175K-$200K+ range with an additional 30% bonus potential

Desired Location: This Western Sales Manager will be responsible for the business in MT, WY, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, MN and Western MO, one can live anywhere within that region, but preference would be towards the center of the area or in places such as the Kansas City, Omaha, Des Moines, Sioux City or Minneapolis areas for easy reach to the territory and sales team.
