Technical Sales – Seed Treatments
Ag 1 Source is looking for a technical salesperson to support existing customers in a very fast-growing seed treatment organization. This is a unique role because your primary focus will be supporting and growing their current customers business. This is not a business development role, there are full-time sales reps to focus on new business – this is great for someone who is more of a customer service minded person who wants to help the current customers succeed and grow. Your goal is still to increase sales, but cold-calling is not something this role requires.
What’s in it for you:
As a Technical Seed Treatment Sales Representative, your primary responsibility will be to promote and sell seed treatment products to current agricultural clients. You will use your technical expertise and knowledge of seed treatments to assist clients in selecting the right products to enhance crop performance. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales skills, and a deep understanding of the agriculture industry.
What you will be doing:
- Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge and technical expertise on seed treatment products, their application, and benefits to potential customers.
- Sales and Customer Support: Work with current clients, which include farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and seed retailers. Develop and maintain a customer base, establish relationships, and drive sales with these current customers.
- Product Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to educate clients on the advantages of various seed treatment options.
- Consultative Selling: Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and tailor seed treatment solutions to address their crop and soil conditions.
- Market Analysis: Stay up to date with market trends, competitors, and industry developments to adapt sales strategies and product offerings accordingly.
- Technical Support: Provide post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting and guidance on seed treatment application processes.
- Sales Targets: Set and achieve sales targets and quotas while maintaining a strong customer focus.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and product inventory.
A successful candidate for this Technical Sales role will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of seed treatment products and their application in agriculture.
- Sales experience coupled with excellent customer service focused approach to your sales.
- Relationship builder and maintainer.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel as needed to meet with clients.
- Knowledge of the local agriculture market and existing industry relationships is a plus.
Compensation: Salary and commission structure based on experience and performance.

Desired Location: This role is targeting to work with customers in the IN/OH region. This role will work remote out of your home, so anywhere in those two states.
