Professional Farm Manager

Ag1Source has partnered with a leading farm management and real estate organization to assist them in hiring a farm manager in a market where they are continuing to see growth and success. This is an organization with over 75 years of success in the Midwest and is seeking a candidate that can help them grow their farm management practice as well as oversee the operations and team in their Mankato Minnesota office. This candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a high-performing team, work with some existing accounts, and grow their business with the ability to build out their own portfolio of farming operations in addition to leading an already successful team.

What you will be doing:

• Professional farm management; lease analysis, negotiation, and tenant selection
• Managing the employees an overseeing the operations of this farm management and real estate office
• Interact with clients’ other professional relationships impacting their farmland
• Land stewardship with a focus on improvement/conservation
• Income and expense budgets, cash flows, and profitability analysis
• Farm accounting and financial analysis
• Technical farm management cropping plans
• Nutrient management/fertility/nitrogen management
• Risk management P&C insurance
• Business development – management, real estate and valuation
• Build trust and always provide quality service

A successful candidate for this Farm Manager will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree – required, agriculture related preferred
• Ability to lead a team
• Ag background beneficial
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Thorough commitment to customer service, internally and externally
• Work under minimal supervision

Compensation: Compensation for this role is competitive based on experience and provides the opportunity to earn performance bonuses and commissions, continuing education support, payment of professional dues

Desired Location: This position is based in Mankato, MN and will focus on the surrounding region
