Key Account Manager
A leading Ag technology and solutions organization is seeking a key account manager to achieve revenue targets by promoting & selling their leading solutions, building relationships with new clients, and strengthening current relationships with retail and distribution partners.
In this role you will:
- Manage the company’s key accounts portfolio, establishing strong, long-term client relationships.
- Build a customer base, using networks to source and onboard new business.
- Partners with the R&D team and prospective customers to scope and price projects, driving the contract creation process for assigned accounts.
- Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet client needs, acting as a liaison between customers and internal teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities, watching for opportunities to develop into new markets. Identifies sales opportunities and adapts strategies.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our product features and benefits and effectively communicate this information to customers.
- Collaborate with the broader Sales Team to develop a sales plan and forecast aligned with revenue objectives.
- Report on sales results and drive forecasting updates.
- Report on market trends and growth opportunities.
- Provide ongoing customer insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement of their products and services.
Ideal candidates should have:
- 5+ years of experience with a proven track record as a strategic account manager or wholesale sales representative
- BS in an Ag-related or Ag-adjacent field with a deep knowledge of the industry
- Experience selling a product that is new to the market
- Curiosity and drive to seek out new markets and product fit
- Ability to establish, measure, and analyze KPIs within the team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
- Ability to travel, up to 60% seasonally
Desired location:
- The ideal location for this role is the Twin Cities or Central Minnesota to best serve clients, but open to candidates farther out provided they are willing to spend a lot of time in this region.
Compensation and Benefits:
- This position will include a strong base salary plus quarterly incentives based on sales and overall performance or your responsibilities.
