What you will be doing:

  • Market Expertise & Relationship Building
    • Actively originate grain through strategic phone outreach and face-to-face producer visits throughout our trade area
    • Serve as a trusted advisor, explaining complex grain marketing options in clear, actionable terms
    • Provide ongoing education and consultation to help producers navigate market opportunities and timing decisions
  • Market Intelligence & Operations
    • Monitor and analyze market conditions, government programs, and industry events that impact grain pricing and opportunities
    • Maintain current grain bids across all locations and ensure timely distribution through multiple channels including our website and mobile app
    • Strategically manage grain offers to optimize outcomes for both producers and the cooperative
  • Customer Partnership
    • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with grain producers across our service territory
    • Deliver exceptional customer service with a consultative approach that builds trust and credibility
    • Act as the primary point of contact for marketing guidance and market insights

A successful candidate for this Grain Originator will possess the following:

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum 3 years of relevant agricultural/grain industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong mathematical aptitude with ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
    • Proficiency with standard office computer systems and agricultural software applications
  • Essential Skills
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities with the talent to explain complex concepts clearly
    • Natural relationship-builder with excellent customer service instincts
    • Persuasive and credible presence that inspires confidence and trust
    • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
    • Genuine interest in agriculture and commitment to supporting farming communities

Compensation: $75 -100K
