Field Research Agronomist

Ag 1 Source is working with an outstanding organization that is cutting edge in their plant health and fertility products and is growing like gangbusters. They are looking to add a Field Research Agronomist for their Northern Region – so you have flexibility on where you would live but MUST be willing to travel across multiple states as you manage YOUR field trials. This is a great opportunity for someone recently out of school (would consider a BS IF you have research plot experience), someone coming out with a Masters or an individual with a few years of research experience.

What you will be doing:

• Working with the Agronomy team and sales reps to plan out the local and their own private trials across their northern region
• Be a key part of getting those trials out and planted in a timely manner
• Managing those trials throughout the season and collecting in-season data as needed
• Overseeing the harvesting and overall collection of data for those trials
• Providing the data for each trial when complete and working with their team to assimilate that into useful sales and technical information

A successful candidate for this Field Research Agronomist will possess the following:

• Strong passion for soil fertility and plant health
• MUST have some level of experience in research trials
• Row crop background
• Ability to travel a large territory as needed, could be especially frantic during planting and harvest
• Strong attention to details and desire to always finish what you start
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently, motivate yourself to get the job done as no one will manage your schedule on a daily basis

Compensation: Will depend on experience, but targeting $50-$75K base

Benefits: All benefits, health, vision, dental, will have a company truck, 401K, performance bonus and company profit sharing, cell phone, computer, etc.

Desired Location: Because this territory is broad, we’d like someone to live fairly centrally located just to minimize extreme travel requirements, so targeting Iowa, Illinois north of I-70 or North East Missouri North of I-70. The territory will stretch from roughly Ohio over to the Dakotas and North of I-70.
