COO/CFO Specialty Crop Operation

Ag 1 Source is looking for a mid-career individual with a strong Financial and Operations experience to serve as COO/CFO to a large southeastern berry operation. This is a well funded and growing company and this role will be a key leader in the business and aid in their strategic growth initiatives across the southeast. Our preference would be someone with berry specific experience, but a leader with working knowledge of vertically integrated specialty crop operations will certainly be entertained.

What you will be doing:

• Direct the businesses financial operations and performance
• Oversee and manage the annual budget and P&L
• Financial Reports and analysis of potential capital investments
• Evaluate operational processes and infrastructure to allow for efficiencies and growth
• Report to the Board of Directors
• Supervise management personnel
• Inventory management oversight
• Management of insurance programs, USDA farm programs, compliance, reports, etc.

A successful candidate for this COO/CFO Specialty Crop Operation will possess the following:

• 8+ years experience in Ag Production and Farm/Business Operations
• High competency of finance and accounting in an agricultural business
• Exceptional capacity for problem solving
• Prior leadership experience and employee relations skills
• BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Ag Business, Ag Econ, etc. and a CPA or MBA a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience with berry crops and/or specialty crop grower/packer/shippers is preferred.

Compensation: Will very much depend on level of experience, but not opposed to targeting $200K base for the right individual.

Desired Location: South Eastern NC or Southern GA is preferred, but within reason of the South East, NC, GA, FL and willingness to travel, is ok.
