This role will be responsible for:
- Directing and overseeing all accounting and finance functions within the division.
- Managing and optimizing grain and commodity trade accounting, including mark-to-market analysis.
- Leading month-end and year-end financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Preparing financial statements, gross margin analysis, and budget projections.
- Overseeing capital expenditure accounting, including project cost management and asset schedules.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, audits, and financial regulations.
- Leading, mentoring, and managing the accounting and administrative team.
Expectations will include:
- Providing accurate financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
- Ensuring compliance with state, local, and industry-specific regulations.
- Collaborating with leadership to develop financial strategies and projections.
- Streamlining accounting operations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Leading technology and system improvements for the division.
- Acting as a safety leader, ensuring a secure and productive work environment.
- Assisting executive leadership with business modeling and revenue growth strategies.
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or a related field.
- Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of financial leadership experience; grain and feed industry knowledge is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mark-to-market accounting, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and financial modeling.
- Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Leadership & Communication: Ability to lead teams, present financial reports, and collaborate with various departments.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of financial regulations, audits, and tax compliance.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
Compensation: $100K+ DOE
