Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Full Circle Ag, Britton SD

The Full Circle Ag board of directors is seeking a CEO to lead their cooperative into the future. This is a member-owned cooperative with locations throughout Northeastern South Dakota and Southern North Dakota where they provide Agronomy, Grain, Feed, and Energy products and services for producers in this region.

Candidates considered for this position should possess upper management or C-level success in a multi-location organization, with preference given to those with this experience in the retail cooperative system. Full Circle Ag plays a vital role in their communities and is therefore seeking a leader to live within its trade area to be a key part of that support.

Primary Responsibilities

• Partner with the Board of Directors to establish strategic direction and expectations, then create the organizational goals and system of accountability to exceed those expectations.
• Provides effective communication at all levels throughout the organization including board guidance, leadership team, employees, business partnerships, community, and any related government or regulatory agencies.
• Relate to rural members with a high level of integrity and trust.
• Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
• Leverage industry connections and relationships to create opportunities and enable their ongoing success.

Key Requirements

• This position requires the highest levels of financial acumen within the retail ag industry, along with people leadership, and ag industry foresight.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field, 15 plus years of Cooperative leadership or ag-business experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• A strong track record of performance in P&L management and departmental budgeting while serving in a leadership capacity.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of retail ag operations with proven success in at least one of the following sectors: Agronomy, Grain, Feed, or Energy.

• This position reports to a 9-member Board of Directors and is supported by a team of proven leaders in the organization.
• The position is based in Full Circle Ag’s main office, which is located in Britton, South Dakota.
• A key component to this position is community involvement, so this position requires the CEO to live within Full Circle Ag’s market.
