Business Development – Ohio/Michigan
Ag 1 Source is seeking a Business Development Rep to drive the growth and implementation of innovative crop management products with regional Ag Retail and Manufacturing partners. This role will be responsible for providing ongoing support and training to customers while collaborating with the entire team to ensure the successful implementation of these products with national Ag Retail and manufacturing partners.
This is a great opportunity to be on some cutting edge offerings that help provide solutions to Ag Retailers while helping mitigate risk to the growers. This role works specifically with the head offices of the Ag Retailers, so while this territory encompasses two states, you are NOT calling on every individual location or each ag retailer in these states, it’s a far more strategic role.

What you will be doing:
- Achieve key financial objectives including revenue, gross profit, and renewals, and enhance customer loyalty.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities for new prospects and existing customers.
- Forecast financial requirements, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Ag retail executive leadership, agronomy teams, credit & finance teams, and other influencers, acting as the main point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Analyze market opportunities, develop plans to service and retain existing customers, increase market penetration, and improve the quality of the book of business.
A successful candidate for this Account Manager position will possess the following:
- A college degree or equivalent preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience; prior sales experience is preferred.
- Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey ideas, trends, technical details, and sales techniques both in person and virtually.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with management and cross-functional teams, including both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with Ag retail partners and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
- Competency in Microsoft Office products and efficiency in email and internet applications.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs.
- Strong personality with high extroversion and ambition, capable of having business conversations with VP-level Agronomy Managers.
Compensation:
- Base Pay: $80-100K annually
- Bonus: based on performance and growth

Desired Location:
- Territory includes Ohio and Michigan, so anywhere in either of those states.
- The candidate should be prepared to travel approximately 20-30,000 miles a year.
