Commercial Agronomist

Ag 1 Source has partnered with a leading soil testing organization to locate a commercial agronomist for their team. The Commercial Agronomist will educate new and prospective customers, support customers, represent the organization in the ag industry, and collaborate with the sales team to support their activities with insight, content, presentations, and strategies.

What you will be doing:

• Train and educate new employees, prospective customers, and valued partners on the use of this organization’s offerings
• Serve as the key customers’ primary contact for technical questions, results interpretation, and insights for their producer customers
• Collaborate with marketing to highlight successful customers by writing or assisting with blog posts, case studies, and success stories
• Collaborate with the organization’s product, R&D, and sales teams to advocate for and help prioritize product enhancements based on customer feedback and industry needs
• Travel 25-35% of the time

A successful candidate for this Agronomist position will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field; plus 5+ years related experience and Masters degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Plant Nutrition preferred plus 3+ years related experience or training
• PCA or CCA preferred
• Willing to travel 25-30%
• Demonstrated success working in an Agricultural Product company
• Strong understanding of plant nutrition & soil fertility
• Excellent technical aptitude, including ability to synthesize and statistically interpret agronomic data and design effective experiments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: Compensation is based on the candidate’s background and level of experience
